Welcome to Mussoorie, the ‘Queen of Hills‘ located in Uttarakhand.
Our journey to Mussoorie was not so good and it was a two-day trip, filled with both good and bad experiences. My husband and I started our journey from Delhi at midnight without booking a Volvo or train in advance, which was a mistake. Booking your tickets in advance is highly recommended to avoid any last-minute stress because fewer Volvo was found at the bus stop ” Kashmiri Gate”. Fortunately, we managed to find tickets for a Uttarakhand Government Volvo bus at the last moment but it was almost midnight we tried serval other Volvos but they all were already booked but at last we found it. The bus ride was a good experience as it was non-stop from Delhi to Dehradun.
Arrival in Dehradun in the early morning and Rent a Scooty at a reasonable price
We reached Dehradun early in the morning and searched for a scooty on rent. After a quick Google search, we found a rental shop near the bus stop called “UK07 Bike Rental.” They had a good collection of new-version scooties and bikes. After renting a scooty at a reasonable price, we started our ride from Dehradun to Mussoorie.
On the way, we witnessed the sunrise point, which was breathtaking and serene. The pleasant morning view added excitement to our journey.
Hotel Booking Issues in Mussoorie
As we reached Mussoorie, I searched for a hotel online, but unfortunately, I made the mistake of booking one on Mall Road. We were unaware that commercial vehicles, including rented scooties, are not allowed from 7 AM to 10 PM on Mall Road. This made it difficult for us to reach our hotel. If you’re traveling with your vehicle, choose a hotel accordingly. Since most good hotels were already booked, we had no choice but to stay in a low-rated locality hotel. Before booking, always check hotel policies and local rules to avoid inconvenience.
Exploring Places in Trip to Mussoorie
After freshening up, we went out to explore local eateries for breakfast. We found a nice place where we had Dosa, Idli, and my favorite, Chai. The weather was pleasant, making the experience even more enjoyable. After breakfast, we took a long walk on Mall Road, explored local shops, and enjoyed delicious local food. The local shops had an amazing collection of shawls and warm suits—buying from them is recommended as you may get discounts.
We took the cable car to Gun Hill, which was mainly a local market but still worth visiting. Later, we walked back to Mall Road and explored Company Garden, which was just an ordinary park. We then found a peaceful spot on Mall Road to watch the sunset, which was a truly magical experience.

Day 2: Exploring More Places in Trip to Mussoorie.
The next morning, we woke up early and started our day by visiting George Everest Hill and Suicide Point. The trek was quite adventurous, but the path to Suicide Point was rough and challenging. I strongly recommend wearing sports shoes for comfort. I noticed that some girls were wearing heels and found it difficult to walk.

After exploring these places, we headed back to Dehradun for lunch before taking an evening bus back to Delhi, marking the end of our short but memorable trip to Mussoorie.
